If you want to learn how to 📦 3d scan any object with just your phone's 📸 camera: in this thread I will explain how to do that for free 🙃

You might know 3d scanning from videos that scan with lasers or infrared etc. That's great but means you have to spend 💰💰💰 for hardware

A new technique that's finally maturing is called "photogrammetry", or "the use of photography in mapping distances between objects."

With photogrammetry you take A LOT of photos of an object from different angles around it and a computer stitches the photos together

Here's how photogrammetry looks. You can use lots of different cameras for the different angles or just use your phone and take diff pics!

You can take anything from 50 to 1,000 photos of an object. The more photos, the more data, so the higher resolution your 3d model will be!

Now how do you convert these 50 photos into a 3d object file? The easiest app now is @Autodesk's Recap 360 on web recap360.autodesk.com
