A tractor is a great parallel to AI because it helps people do their work easier and faster
150 years ago 70-90% of people were employed in agriculture
Today it's just 1%
Because of mechanization (machines), industrialization (mass farming) and automation (computers) we needed way less people to produce more food
The wishful thinking that especially devs have that they'll just use AI to make their life easier is true but also a company might need 10x or 100x less devs to do the same work
Will that mean the work just become more advanced so companies need the same amount of people again? I'm not sure, didn't happen with agriculture
