Indie hacking got big ~2016
The 7-year cycle means it should die any moment now, as it's been 7 years
What this means to me is indie hacking has become part of the normal, the status quo, and that indie hacker principles are now part of any startup founder's mindset to at least consider
In a way it has replaced the Lean Startup of 2010, as somewhat of an update to it: no customer interviews, just go straight to lean prototyping, launch fast, throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks, nuke it if it doesn't work and go on to the next project while broadcasting your journey publicly as marketing
The new Gen Z founders are indie hackers and nomads by default, while also open to raise funding later
