Hotel ACs in Europe are now designed to show it being about 4°C/9°F colder in your room than it really is

The difference there is if you put it at 20°C, it'll actually be 24°C!

This is a product feature sold to hotels so they can save money on energy while tricking guests into thinking it's colder than it really is

"It must be only me thinking it's hot here?"

No it's not you! It's hotel AC displays lying to you!
