American restaurants kick you out after one meal unlike Europe

One thing that blows my mind about American restaurants (even just brunch places)
You can't just hang around and lounge
After you finish eating one meal with a drink, the waiter will ask you if you want more, and if you don't she'll immediately bring you the check and want to close your tab
There's no concept of hanging around and ordering more stuff later it seems
As a European it makes me feel like they wanna kick me out
In Europe it's the opposite, you have to beg for the check and to pay and you just lounge forever
I guess that's why Americans are so rich, kick the fuckers out when they stop paying
